Moldings are a part of the fitting system that seals your auto glass to the frame of your vehicle.

 

Each piece of molding is a long, rubber serrated tube that fits precisely in each of the windshield, backlight, windows, and body frame.

Weatherstrips keep water and wind from getting inside the car through the edges of the glass. After years of battling the elements every day, it eventually weakens and needs to be replaced.
